The Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Science and Letters at Ribeirão Preto (FFCLRP), University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil, announces the opening of a faculty position (position nº 1022482, full-time dedication service). 
 
Interested applicants should hold a Ph.D. title. Applications will be accepted from August 26th, 2022 at 9 a.m., to October 24th, 2022, at 5 p.m. (GMT -3). In an unprecedented way, this is a job opportunity for a position as an Doctor Assistant Professor (equivalent to ‘tenure track’) derived from a research grant focusing on integrative analysis of crustacean lineages and related to the courses of Developmental Biology, Invertebrate Zoology and Population Ecology offered to undergraduate students in Biology.
 
This position was obtained in association of the research Project FAPESP Biota Intercrusta 2018/13685-5 "Integrative analysis of the Brazilian fauna of decapod crustaceans: taxonomy, phylogenetic systematics, spermiotaxonomy, developmental morphology, post-embryonic, ecology and conservation", coordinated by Professor Fernando L. Mantelatto.
 
The university seeks a researcher/teacher to work on the integrative topics listed below and answer relevant questions in Evolution, Development and Biodiversity of Malacostraca lineages.
 
1 - Origin, diversity, and phylogenetic relationships in Malacostraca
 
2 - Adaptations of Malacostraca to terrestrial and freshwater environments
 
3 - Embryonic and larval development in Malacostraca
 
4 - Cleavage, gastrulation, neurulation, and germ layers in Malacostraca
 
5 - Reproductive systems, spermatogenesis/oogenesis in Malacostraca
 
6 - Evolution of body plans and functional morphology in Malacostraca
 
7 - Homeotic genes and developmental signaling pathways in Malacostraca
 
8 - Life cycles, ontogeny, and metamorphosis in Malacostraca
 
9 - Conservation, threats, and relationship with the environment in Malacostraca
 
10 - Fossil record and macroevolution in Malacostraca
 
11 - History and Relevance of Carcinology in Brazil: past, present, and future
 
12 - Carcinological Collections: Curation, Planning, Maintenance and Principles
 
The selected candidate will work at the Department of Biology, Faculty of Philosophy, Science and Letters at Ribeirão Preto
